Age 23

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow, that we announce the passing of Adrian Encarnacion on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the age of 23. Though his life was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Adrian was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where his early years were centered through family, community, and friendship. He later moved to Waterbury, Connecticut, where he continued to grow and build lasting relationships. He attended Wilson Elementary School, North End Middle School, and Crosby High School, carrying with him the lessons, bonds, and experiences that helped form the compassionate young man he became.

Adrian had a rare and beautiful spirit. He may have seemed shy at first, but once you were in his circle, you were family for life. He loved deeply, fiercely, and without hesitation. His laughter was contagious, his heart was generous, and his presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him. He had a natural way of lifting others, even when he was quietly carrying his own burdens.

Adrian found joy in the spaces that inspired his imagination. He loved anime, manga, and Japanese culture, and could talk for hours about his favorite characters, stories, and soundtracks. Video games were another passion — not just for the competition, but for the connection, storytelling, and shared moments they created. He also held a special love for Harry Potter, a universe that reflected his belief in loyalty, courage, and choosing light even in dark times. He had a creative soul with a deep love for music, and whatever Adrian set his heart on, he gave his all. Anything he did, he did with love, passion, and dedication.

Behind his gentle smile, Adrian fought a private battle with mental health, one he faced quietly while continuing to show up for others. His passing serves as a reminder to love more deeply, listen more closely, and care more intentionally for those around us.

Adrian leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted mother, Mildred Encarnacion, his brother, Jesus Rodriguez, his sister, Anabelle Gonzalez, and his youngest brother, Jamien Figueroa. He is also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who loved him deeply and will carry on his spirit, his kindness, and his legacy in their hearts, always walking in love and faith alongside the Lord.

Though we mourn his physical absence, we take comfort in God’s promise found in Scripture: “Absent from the body, present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). We trust that Adrian is now at peace, embraced in eternal love and rest.

At only 23 years old, Adrian had so much life ahead of him — dreams still unfolding and memories yet to be made. His passing has forever changed the lives of those who loved him that words cannot fully express.

A wake will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 3pm-5pm at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfuneras.com.
