Anita M. Zimla, age 83, of Shelton, passed away on February 6, 2025, at Midstate Medical Center of Meriden. She was born on October 27, 1941 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late John and Betty (Langdon) Baransky. Predeceased by her Loving husband John Zimla for over 55 years and two sons Richard Iliff and Cary Iliff. Beloved mother of 5 children Debra (Robert) Bennett of PA, Dawna (Michael) Nuzzi of Meriden, Christopher (Erica) Zimla of Madison. Also survived by 7 grandchildren Tammy (Louis) Madia, Richard Iliff, Kristen Todd, Robert (Elizabeth) Bennett, Michelle (Joel) Bence, Michael (Tiffany) Nuzzi, Tyler (Jennifer DeGrand) Nuzzi, 4 great grandchildren Kailey Bence, Aiden Nuzzi, Mackenzie Bence, Isabelle Nuzzi, and 7 siblings. Anita loved gardening and flowers, traveling, cooking, and casino trips, but most of all loved being with family and playing with her grandchildren. She was also a missionary for years and dedicated her life to serving Jesus and others.
