Annice “Antee” Senior

The journey of Annice “Antee” Senior began over 92 years ago; born to Preston and Gladys Senior in St. George, South Carolina on January 25, 1930.  Annice was preceded in death by her parents and her three siblings, Preston, Jr., James Arthur, and Leroy. She departed this life peacefully on September 30, 2022 surrounded by her close family.

She was raised in St. George as the eldest of five children.  She completed her education in St. George, SC. She graduated from William Memorial High School in St. George, SC where she was an outstanding member of the Girls Basketball team.

She was a trailblazer and followed her father Preston to New Haven, CT.  Along the way, Annice spent time in Harlem, Brownsville Brooklyn where she had family. She loved New York.

While living in New Haven, she was employed by Burndy’s, Connecticut Hard Rubber, and Western Electric (retired).

Annice leaves to cherish her memory: her sister Catherine Setzer of South Carolina, a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and many friends.

A celebration of Annice’s life will be held on Saturday October 8, 2022 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue Hamden at 9am. Viewing in Colonial from 8-9am. Interment to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
