It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony W. “Tony” Anderson on January 8, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Tony was the husband of Belinda “Robin” Anderson.

Tony was born on January 27, 1957, in Wilson, NC, to the late Christine Anderson Simmons.  He was a lifelong resident of Waterbury; Connecticut and he was educated through Waterbury Public Schools.  Tony recently retired from Summit Corporation of America in Thomaston, Connecticut after being employed there for over 30 years.

Tony was a gentle, kindhearted, loving man, who spent his life loving and providing for his family and nurturing his children and grandchildren.  He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband and committed father, grandfather, brother, uncle cousin and friend.  Tony ALWAYS was willing to help his love ones and NEVER asked for anything in return.

Tony leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Belinda “Robin” Anderson the love of his life for 43 years; his children, Anthony Conyers, Latoya (Michael) Scott, Terrelle (Sharese) Conyers, and Dessiree Conyers, all of Waterbury, his eleven grandchildren: Zareyah, Zariah, Michia, Anthony, Yasmin, Michael, Michail, Terrelle, Zyaire, Mattie and Nyasia.  He also leaves his siblings, Peggy (Herbert) Wilson, of SC, Brenda (Reginald) Simmons-Sears, of CA, Johnie Earl Anderson and Vincent Simmons, of Waterbury, and Barbara Williams, of NC; mother-in-law, Bettie Conyers, of Waterbury; niece, Tracey Anderson, of Waterbury, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.   He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Anderson.

An hour of visitation will be 10am to 11am on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Colonial, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury. Private funeral service will follow at 11am with James R, Sanders, funeral director.  Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. COVID-19 mandates will be honored.
