Anthony “Tony” John Kras Jr.

Anthony “Tony” John Kras Jr.,72 of New Haven, Connecticut. Passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 at Hospice of Branford. He was born March 25th, 1949 in New Haven Ct. to the late Anthony and Jane (Korzon) Kras. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 46 years Christine (Blomberg) Kras of Vernon Ct. Anthony was the loving father of daughter Teresa Kras (Ernie), of Hamden Ct. He was also a proud “pop pop” (grand-father) to Ernest Lee Randall of Hamden Ct.  Anthony is survived by his three siblings,  Cynthia (William) Pallman of Guilford, Genevieve (Widow of Thomas) Gerz of Wallingford and Laura(John) Impronto of East Haven and he also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his son Anthony J. Kras lll and his brother John Kras.

Anthony graduated from East Haven high school and continued his education at Eastern Connecticut State University where he received his bachelor degree in Psychology. He continued his career working at Mossberg and Sons in North Haven for over 26 years as an Expeditor and held many positions in the company. Anthony enjoyed spending time with his wife Christine and his two children Anthony and Teresa.  Earlier years He enjoyed comic book shopping, fishing and fixing cars with his late son Anthony.  He also enjoyed catching fireflies and helping his daughter Teresa with projects for school.  Years later he became a proud grandfather to his grandson Ernie. He enjoyed the quality time they spent together going to the  park no matter what the season was. He really enjoyed the holidays with his grandson playing Santa over the phone and leaving secret treasures in the backyard for him to find. Anthony also loved to watch the early morning news over a hot cup of coffee and talk about what is going on in world with his wife Christine.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:30am at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue Hamden. Visitation from 10:00-11:30am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
