Honoring and Remembering the life of April Valeta (Haynes) Hightower. April Valeta Hightower age 60 of Waterbury, passed away on February 20th, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven CT. April Hightower was born on October 26th, 1964 in Waterbury, CT. The daughter of late Rosa (Freeman) Haynes and Walter Haynes. She was the youngest of three children.

April attended Wilby High School and went on to graduate from Central Connecticut State University, where her bright spirit continued to shine. April was a woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. She was deeply devoted to her children, Kevin Jr, Kyle, Jannelle, and Jaada, always placing them at the center of her world. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She had a gift for creating precious memories with her loved ones, always enjoying the simple pleasures of life like music, shopping, and spending quality time with those she held dear.

Her joy was also found in her grandchildren—Chandler, Kinsley, and Kamilah—whom she adored with all her heart. As well as nieces, cousins and other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Jason Haynes.

A Celebration of April’s Life will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025 in Colonial Funeral Home, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, Connecticut at 12pm. Viewing in Colonial Funeral from 11am-12pm.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director.
