Aron Tyrell Vann

On Sunday October 20 th , 2024 our Heavenly Father called His son, our beloved Aron home to glory. Aron Tyrell Vann, was born on April 12, 1994, in Waterbury, CT. He was the youngest of two sons, born to John R. Vann and Charisse Vann. Aron was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents Eddie Robertson & Muriel Robertson and his Godmother & Aunt Dia Vann-Outing.

At an early age, Aron gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church. At Zion Baptist, Aron was a member of the Jr. Usher Board and the Children’s Choir. During his adolescent years, Aron was educated through Waterbury Parochial Schools, namely, St. Joseph’s, St. Lucy’s and St. Mary’s. He later graduated from Wilby High School. Post graduation, he remained in Waterbury where he was surrounded by a host of family and friends.

Aron was a “Hometown Hero”. Anytime he entered the room it was a celebration.  Whether you called him AV, A-Ron, ATV, Razzle, Razz, when you called him, he was there and waiting with his infectious smile. He loved the game of basketball and was an avid Spurs fan. Since he was a child, Aron loved animals, particularly, his dogs, China and Paris. Aron had a special love for music, he was a human jukebox, and you could always count on him dancing, laughing, and being the life of the party.  He was also very meticulous in his appearance, as he loved fashion. There were many things that Aron loved, but at the top of his list was family.  His family was his whole heart, everyone was his “cousin”, and even those that weren’t related to him, felt like family.  Aron was well respected by all, and was respectful to everyone. Everyone will miss his light, charm, and his warmth.

Aron leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother, Charisse Vann of Newport News, VA; his father, John O. Vann, of Waterbury;  brother and best friend, Justin Micheal Vann, of Waterbury;  brother Jarrett Clayton, of Springfield, MA; grandparents, John and Elaine Vann of Chesapeake, VA; sister-cousins, Jasmine Whiting (Troy Whiting), Alaina Outing, Sara Byrd, and Jordan Outing, who along with Justin, are affectionately known as “The Six” – all grandchildren of John and Elaine Vann. He also leaves his aunt, Sylvia Hampton, of Athens, AL; cousins, Keither Gala (Marlon), of Athens, AL; Heather McMurtray (Paul), of Huntsville, AL; and Daebrion Hampton, of Athens, AL. He leaves a special friend, Karla Marrero, of Waterbury; a close-knit brotherhood of friends, and a huge family of cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Aron loved his city and his city loved him. His legacy and influence will live on in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Aron’s life will be held on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at Zion Baptist Church at 11am. Viewing in Church from 10am-11am. Burial to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
