Today we gather to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable man, Astley Scott. At the age of 78, Astley left us, but his legacy, love, and the memories we have for him will live on forever.
Astley George Scott was born in Duanvale, Trelawny Jamaica on September 29 th , 1945 to Stanley Scott and Matilda Dawkins, departed his earthly home on Monday July 29, 2024 in Hamden CT.
Astley completed high school in Jamaica and later joined the police force, a career marked by his promotion from Special Constable to Corporal; he dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. He retired from the force in 2001 after 35 years of service.
Astley Migrated to the United States in 2016 to join his wife Lilly, his children and grandchildren. He was known as Mr. Scott, Scotty, Greg, and (belly mouse by his coworkers).
He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Mrs. Lilly Scott, married for 49 years, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rest in peace, Astley Scott. Your journey here may have ended, but your love and legacy will continue to guide and inspire us. We love you, and we will miss you always.
At such a difficult time, it’s important to remember the good memories we all have of Astley. By holding on to those memories, we can focus on the good times we had together and help each other find comfort in this difficult time.
A celebration of Astley’s life will be held on Saturday August 17, 2024 at 9:30am Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden CT. Viewing in Colonial from 8:30- 9:30am. Burial to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
