Beverly Ann Conyers

Beverly Ann Conyers was born on June 22, 1950, in Charleston, SC to Rev. Robert Lee Conyers Sr. and Hattie Mae (Johnson) Conyers. Beverly passed away peacefully in New Haven, CT on Monday, February 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

The Conyers family relocated from West Hollywood, FL to New Haven in 1956 and soon thereafter became faithful members of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, where Beverly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

Those who grew up with “Bev” agree that she was much like a hurricane! Even as a young girl, she was a force to be reckoned with. The oldest of six children, Beverly took seriously her role as honorary protector of her younger siblings.  Right or wrong, she had their backs ~ ready to fight their battles regardless of the cost.  Beverly was “ the Boss ” for sure, and everybody knew it!!!  Proudly referred to by her siblings as “Our Big Sister,” Beverly was a natural leader of great conviction.  That conviction, along with her ever-growing, always maturing love for the Lord, would be evidenced throughout her adult life.

A beloved figure in the community, Beverly was known for her lifelong commitment to caring for children. She dedicated much of her life to nurturing and guiding the younger generation, and the impact of her devotion will be felt for years to come. Beverly cultivated deep, lasting friendships, and to know her was to feel like family. Her conversations were always filled with joy, wisdom, and encouragement, leaving everyone she encountered with a sense of hope and comfort.

Beverly touched the hearts of everyone she met with her selfless nature and unwavering dedication to others.  Her compassion knew no bounds, and the countless lives she enriched will continue to carry forward the warmth of her spirit. Beverly’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were touched by her presence. Her testimony will live on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught, and the lives she shaped.

Take your rest now, Bev. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Beverly is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Shareef, Tiara Conyers, and Hart Conyers; her siblings, Robert Conyers Jr. (Heather), Gloria Conyers Mutts (Dennis), Alice Conyers, Mattie Conyers, and Kenneth Conyers (Juanita); as well as her beloved grandchildren, Nicole Conyers-Echols, Brandi Shareef, Tiana Shareef, Torrai Conyers-Darden, Tabiaz Conyers-Moore, Tyrese Conyers-Moore, Davaughn Conyers, Isaiah Conyers, Brandin Conyers, Faith Conyers, and Harmony Conyers. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends who were fortunate to have known her warmth and generosity.

A Celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11am at Ebenezer Chapel, 50 Dwight Street, New Haven, CT. Viewing in Church from 10am-11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
