This is my obituary, written by me on the 7 th day of September, 2008. I, Beverly P. Hill-Green, the daughter of Shirley Anderson-Hill and the late Orestes G. Hill was born on January 17, 1954 at Harlem Hospital, in New York City, where I grew up and attended public school. On December 2, 1969 I gave birth to a son, Larry and on May 17, 1977 I married my beloved husband and soul mate, Milton Green, (who preceded me in death on June 30, 1984). I left NYC on December 31 st 1986 in search of a different life and arrived in Waterbury Ct. On January 1, 1987 and through some struggles and a lot of life changes, Waterbury became my home. From 1985 until 1990 I worked various jobs until I landed a job at Hemingway Packaging, where I was employed from 1990 until 1994. In 1991, finally, I found and became a member of Narcotics Anonymous. I graduated from Adult Education in 1995 with my High School diploma and attended Naugatuck Valley Community College for two years. I’ve volunteered at the Trinity Church’s Day Shelter for the Homeless, at St. John’s Soup Kitchen, Morris Foundation and Ct. Renaissance Behavioral Modification Programs. I worked at the Waterbury Health Department in 1995 to 1996 and at the New Opportunities for Waterbury Incorporated/AHAP from August 1997 until October 1998 at which time I returned to work at the Waterbury Health Department until I retired in 2009. During this time I also worked for the Greater Waterbury Mental Health Association for a year and for First Foto for eight years, taking baby pictures at Waterbury and Saint Mary’s Hospitals. After retirement I worked various job hosts such as Acts 4 Ministry and at the Town Hall of Wolcott Ct.
