Beverly Jean Sandelin

Ms. Beverly Jean Sandelin, 72, of 88 Cobb Street, Oakville CT passed away peacefully on June 24th at her sister’s home surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was born on August 19th 1953 in Indianola, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Beatrice (Ireland) Sandelin. She attended Mississippi schools, moving to Waterbury, CT at a young age. She continued her education and graduated from the Waterbury School System. Beverly worked for Marina Manor for 12 years and for Homemakers and Companions for 8 years. She worked at Walmart for 6 years, and also as a secretary for 4 years at Zion Baptist Church. Additionally, Beverly was employed by Allied Health for 3 years. Beverly was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church. She truly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching movies, such as Claudine, Beauty n Black. She loved going to Walmart in Naugatuck and Costco and shopping on QVC. Beverly leaves to mourn 3 daughters, Paula (Troy) Thomas of Middletown, Carla (Charles) Walker and Ebony Sandelin both of Waterbury. Additionally, she leaves 5 sisters, Gwen (Edward) Duggan, Vanessa McDaniels, Chandra (Harry) Royster, Debbie Sandelin, and Carla Montaque all of Waterbury. She leaves 7 beloved grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , aunts, uncle and close friends. Beverly was predeceased by her brother Kelvin and sister Shirley Sandelin.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2026 at Zion Baptist Church, 137 Pearl Street, Waterbury, CT 06704 at 11am. Viewing in Church from 10am - 11am.
