Carrie Lee Ritter

Carrie Lee Ritter, age 88, of New Haven, entered into eternal life on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at CT Hospice. Born on July 26, 1930, in Florence, SC, daughter of the late Nathaniel and Melvina (Jackson) Sumter. Beloved wife of the late Warren Ritter for over 40 years. Cherished great grandmother of Shontae (Marquise) Brookshire, Michael (Virginia) Ritter both of New Haven, and Warren Rosa of Oklahoma. Also survived by one sister Julia Green-Lane New Haven. Predeceased by one daughter Bernice Barrett, one granddaughter Yvette Ritter, one sister Mary Graham, and one brother Julius Sumter. She worked a CT Transit as a bus driver for over 20 years.

A Celebration of Carrie’s life will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 at Sweet Hope Plain FWB Church, 59 Farren Avenue New Haven at 11am. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
