Charles Jones

Charles “Chuckie” Jones of New Haven, Ct, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 11, 2020, peacefully in his sleep while at home. He was born on November 7, 1953 and was a life-long resident of New Haven.

He was the third son, born to the late Mr. Asa Jones of Dillon, SC and Mrs. Annie Lee Jones of Rock Hill, SC.

Charles, AKA Chuckie” to many, was well loved and really didn’t mind helping people in any way he could. He loved to do word puzzles, watch western shows, The Jerry Springer show, let’s Make a deal, basketball games, football games, Little House on the Prairie and more.

His passion was working on cars! He was a skilled mechanic in his own right. He was taught at an early age by Mr. Nate Pittman and Mr. Forest how to fix cars. He had many customers who depended on “Chuck” to fix their cars. His skill allowed him to repair anyone’s car. If he could not, fix it, he would kindly tell you.

He leaves to mourn, his mother Mrs. Annie Lee Berry-Jones, four brothers Clifton “Bunny” Jones (the Late Pat Mroz); Asa Jones Jr. (Rhonda); Ronnie Jones; Ralph Jones Sr. and one sister Ruthie L. Jones-McClure (Apostle David McClure, Jr.)

Three nieces Aubrey Ruth Mroz-Jones (Deceased); Shaunta McClure, and Shalise McClure. Five nephews Christopher Jones (Bonnie); Timothy McClure; David McClure III, Lance Jones (Laura), and Ralph Draughn Jr (L’ Tanya).

Three great nieces Maci-Lee, Elon Jones, and Ralquel Draughn. Four great nephews Devon, Xavier , Aiden Jones, and Ralph Draughn III.

He is predeceased by his father Mr. Asa Jones. A host of cousins, family and friends.

A celebration of Charles life will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden at 11am. Viewing is from 10-11am. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive guest after the interment at New Life Worship Center, 207 Terminal Lane, New Haven (Off the Ella Grasso Boulevard).
