In loving memory of Charles Aaron Watson

With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announced the passing of Charles Aaron Watson, who entered internal rest on July 17, 2026, in Waterbury, Connecticut, after courageously battling a long illness. He was born on May 13, 1964, and will be remembered for his loving heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Tashima Watson, with whom he shared two years of marriage.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Gayle Watson, Maurice Parker, Sharena Nichols, and Kelsey Parker, all of Waterbury, Connecticut. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Nasir Watson, Nakai Watson, Phoenix Smith, Nova Smith, Jazlyn Parker, Kaimoni London Nichols, each of whom brought great joy to his life.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lillian Watson, and Edward Watson, as well as his brother, Timothy, Watson, and his sister, Carol Schiavo.

He has survived by his loving sister, Lisa Gaynes; his cherished, godmother, Patricia Prince of Charlotte, North Carolina; several beloved aunts; one uncle; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members; and countless friends, whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Charles was a hard-working man who spent many years as an automobile mechanic, a trade, he truly enjoyed. He also worked a variety of other jobs throughout his life, and was always willing to use his skills to help others. Whether repairing a vehicle or a friend or lending a helping hand, Charles was known for his generosity and strong worth ethic.

Outside of work, Charles found great joy, and working on cars, playing basketball, spending time with his family, and serving his community, he faithfully attended Mount Olive, A.M.E. Zion Church in Waterbury.

Charles had a warm smile, a caring heart, and a generous spirit. He loved his family deeply and treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends. He touched many lives through his kindness, compassion, and willingness to help anyone in need. His legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will continue to live on in all who knew him.

A homecoming celebration honoring the life of Charles Aaron Watson will be held on Monday July 27, 2026 at 55 Store Avenue Waterbury, Connecticut, at 11am with Pastor Justin Keys officiating. Viewing will be held in Church from 10am to 11am. Family and friends are invited to gather and remembrance and celebration of Charles life. A memorial service and repass will follow the funeral service. Services are entrusted to Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Charles is now at peace. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
