Chevai A. Harris (46) entered into eternal life on March 15, 2025. Born and raised in New Haven, CT, he was the beloved son of Anthony Harris and the late Andrea Rankins. A devoted father to Navoni Harris, Chevai’s love and guidance were the cornerstones of his family. He is fondly remembered by his sisters, Jameka Sayles and Toni Harris Quinerly, brother-in-law Reginald Quinerly, and a host of cherished cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Chevai’s passion for life was evident in his role as a dedicated uncle, godfather, and inspiring basketball coach to countless young people. A proud US Army veteran, he served his country with honor and continued his commitment to service as a valued 20+ year employee of the VA Hospital. Chevai’s legacy of love, leadership, and unwavering integrity will forever be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Chevai’s life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Wayfaring Ministries, 29 Marne Street Rear, Hamden, CT, at 11:00am ET. Viewing in Church from 10-11 am. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
