Clarence Ray Hunter

Clarence Ray Hunter, son of the late Georgia Williams and Hullie Hunter was born September 26, 1950, in Lenoir County, North Carolina.  God Called beloved Clarence (Ray) to eternal rest on November 28, 2021.

Clarence is survived by two sons Chandler (Ikeisha) Cagle, and Timothy (Sonya) McFadden.  Clarence is a beloved grandfather to Chandis, Jordan, Timothy, Camryn, and Tyron of New Haven, Ct.  Clarence leaves a sister Betty (Craig) hunter and a brother James Hunter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Clarence started his education in Lenior County North Carolina, before moving to Connecticut and graduating from Richard C. Lee High School; he served with the U.S. Army.  After serving in the armed forces, he furthered his education at Baran Institute of Technology for Heating and Air Conditioning; in addition, variegated industries, then started a career in the US Postal Service until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Ernest Perry, mercy Whitfield, sister Hilda Hunter, brother Larry Hunter, brother Kenneth Hunter.

Clarence remained close to his family, especially his grandchildren – who meant the world to him – there is nothing he wouldn’t have done for them. He remained connected with friends in his community and kept his satirical humor to the last day.  Clarence picked up arms and fought this battle for more than a decade, with many none the wiser.  For a person with the intensity and a great presence, there are no words that can express what is lost.  Clarence’s presence would always be felt and surely missed. Rest well sir.

“Uncompromisingly Unique, Loved and was loved.”
