In Loving Memory of Claude Parker Sr.

Claude Parker Sr. 88, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 27, 2026, following a brief illness.

Claude was born on December 20, 1937, in Gatesville, North Carolina, to the late James Arthur and Beatrice (Walton) Parker. He was educated in the North Carolina school system before migrating to Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1958.

Upon arriving in Waterbury, Claude began his career at Alloy Foundries, formerly known as The Eastern Company. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee who remained with the company until his retirement.

Claude was a man's man, a good, God-fearing man, and a father to all. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where he worshipped and remained grounded in his faith.

Claude enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and loved everything about the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and working on cars. He was a man who appreciated staying busy and working with his hands. Above all else, Claude loved his family. His greatest joy was the love he shared with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

Claude leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 67 years, Arrabelle Parker; his son, Claude “Buddy” Parker, Jr., of Waterbury, CT; and five daughters, Phyllis (John) Harrison, Iris Porter, Jacqueline Parker of Baton Rouge, LA, Doreen Parker, and Melinda Parker, all of Waterbury, CT.

He is also survived by his brother, James Parker of Cary, NC, and his sister, Brenda Kay Stalling.

Claude leaves seven grandchildren: Marquice Parker of Worcester, MA; Marcus Porter of Baton Rouge, LA; Maurice Parker and Kelsey Parker of Waterbury, CT; Lance (Kianna) Buckley of Burleson, TX; Marcell Parker, Camron Parker, and Jamari Minnifield Parker of Waterbury, CT. He also leaves 12 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Claude was preceded in death by his sister, Blanche Parker, and six brothers: Willie A. Parker, Lacey Parker, Luther Parker, Sidney Parker, Linwood Parker, and Bobby R. Walton. He was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, King Minnifield Parker.

Claude's life was a testament to faith, family, hard work, and love. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His presence brought strength, wisdom, laughter, and love to those around him.

Though he is no longer with us in body, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest peacefully, Claude. Your love, your legacy, and your memory will live on forever.

A celebration of Claude’s life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 11am at Zion Baptist Church. Viewing in Church from 10am-11am.
