Corey J. Ward

Mr. Corey Jerome Ward, Sr., 34, of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 24, 2021, in a tragic car accident.

Mr. Ward was born March 17, 1987, in Waterbury, CT, son to Lisa Ward of Waterbury and the late Joseph Vann.

“Loot” as he was also known as, was educated in the Connecticut Public School System. He was employed by various companies in the healthcare field throughout CT. His love, care and dedication for others encouraged him to become a great Certified Nurse’s Aide, Live-in Aide, and an Assisted living worker for many years. His most recent employers were Utopia Homecare and Door Dash. He loved sports and was a fan of the New England Patriots. Corey also loved to talk on the phone, make people laugh, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. His smile was like no other and he was as gentle as a teddy bear. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

Besides his mother Lisa, he leaves to cherish his memories a son; Corey J. Ward, Jr. of New Britain, seven siblings; Teisha Ward, Jamie Ward, Lacreisha Joe all of Waterbury, Lamont Ward of Colorado, Kameisha Ward of Naugatuck, Delton Joe Jr. of Kent, CT, and Jermaine Ward of Washington, CT, grandmother; Ann Shepard of Waterbury, uncles, Scott (Donna) Ward, Darrin Shepard, Keith Shepard, all of Waterbury, Cordell (Manuela) Shepard of Germany, aunt; Charlene Shepard of New Britain, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his great grandfather; Charlie A. Shepard.

A celebration of Corey’s life will be held at 5pm on Wednesday July 21, 2021 walk thru from 4-5pm at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street Waterbury. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
