Courtney Oliver Edgehill on February 26th, 2024 departed his life suddenly due to a motor vehicle accident. Courtney was born December 4th, 1979 in New Haven to Wafeeq Abdullah Ibn Edgehill and April Curtis. He attended Eli Whitney Technical High School in Hamden and graduated with studies in Culinary Arts. Courtney had many trades. He worked for Plastic Forming in Woodbridge. He loved working as the front end manager at Elm City market in New Haven, so much that it reflected in the relationships with customers and employees. Courtney assisted with the delivery of his younger brother Michael in 1995 en-route to the hospital. He made the New Haven Register; they called him young Doogie Howser MD. He loved his family and he always made sure they were well taken care of. The familys admiration for him was shown in his many nicknames from Fluzo, Scooby, Bamboo, to Large Fry and his daughter was Small Fry; the list goes on… He loved birdwatching, cooking, having a good time, and fussing with us but we loved him beyond words. Courtney has studied with Jehovah Witnesses; his favorite scripture was Psalms 56:3 “When I am afraid I put my trust in you.” Listening to old school R&B was his favorite pastime. He was a big time prankster and wise guy; when you didn’t answer his questions quickly his response would be “check-mate!” to prove his point. He loved to dress, everything was always color coordinated down to the seams. He instilled these values into his daughter; they wouldn’t leave the house until they looked impeccable. When missing he would be found at his second home, Mohegan Sun, sitting at a table playing Blackjack.
