Cynthia Gaskins departed this life at the age of 70 on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT., surrounded by her family. Born to the late Arthur Moore and Doris Wynder-Gaskins on June 27, 1955, in New Haven, CT.

Cynthia leaves to mourn her children three sons: Melvin-Michael and Jennifer Gaskins, James Darnell Glover, Kenyian Lamont Gaskins., two daughters: Kimberly and Jeffrey Barker and Hurkeya Gaskins. Siblings: Evangelist Patricia Gaskins, Anthony Gaskins, Onyx Noir, LaTonya, Sandra McCallum; Grandchildren: Enfinity Glover, Kashonia and Andre Morrison, Kiona Gaskins, Jaquaa Barker and Mykel Alston, Xzavea Bradley-Glover, Samuel Galberth-Gaskins, Darnell Glover, Jeffrey Barker Jr. and Jamir Clay- Gaskins., and a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a daughter Kiona Gaskins, a grandson Melvin Stanley.

Cynthia was an outgoing and loving person, full of empathy and compassion. She was deeply family-oriented and believed strongly in keeping her family close and connected. One of her greatest joys was teaching us values and life lessons that we could carry with us for a lifetime.

She was strong-willed and resilient. No matter what challenges she faced, she remained joyful and determined. Cynthia loved God and carried her faith with her daily, drawing strength and guidance from it throughout her life.

She loved shopping and cooking for her family, always finding ways to show her love through the things she did for others.

Each day, she woke up with a new reason to embrace life, living with purpose, gratitude, and faith.

A Celebration of Cynthia’s Life will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Joy Temple Church, C.O.C.I.P, 424 Howard Ave, New Haven, CT at 11am. Viewing from 10am-11am in Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
