Waterbury – Mr. Dallas C. Eason, (DC) age 85 entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 4, 2021. He was the husband of the late Joan Blondell Gripper-Eason.
Mr. Eason, was born on December 17, 1935 in Hobbsville, North Carolina, the son of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Winslow) Eason, Jr. He relocated to Waterbury where he resided until his passing. Mr. Eason retired from Coyne Textile Services, Inc. after many years of service. He also worked at New Opportunities, Inc. Mr. Eason was a long-time member of Zion Baptist Church.
Dallas loved to watch wrestling, fish and being around family and friends. He was a man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid dancer, never met a stranger and his green thumb was requested throughout the city.
Dallas leaves to cherish his memory; four granddaughters: Michelle, Tamara, Jessica and Serenity; one grandson Dylan; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Madeline Trotman of Waterbury and Frances Lamb of Chesapeake, VA; one brother: Melvin (Leauntine) Eason of Waterbury; sister-in-law: Lottie Eason and Merlie Eason of Waterbury; Connie McCleu of Virginia Beach, VA and Elain Vann (John, Sr) of Chesapeake, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Dallas was predeceased by his son Kristopher Eason and granddaughter Patrice Edwards; brothers: Tom, Herman, Floyd, Lester, Shelton and Bernice Eason; four sisters: Lessie Mae Goodman, Savannah Williams, Marie Eason, Alma Byrd and brother-in-law James Gripper.
A celebration of Dallas’s life will be held at Zion Baptist Church 137 Pearl Street, Waterbury on Friday March 12, 2021 at 11am. Walk thru will be 10am-11am. Interment to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. James R. Sanders, funeral director. All COVID-19 mandates will be honored masks are required. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
