Danny Ward

Danny was born in Waterbury, CT to Ida (Hayre) Dos Reis and George Dos Reis. He was a graduate of the Kennedy High School class of 1970.

Danny worked at Northeast Utilities for over 35 years. He was a Trustee at Zion Baptist church and an honorary member of the Ashanti.

Danny loved reading and reciting the Word of God daily. He enjoyed music, swimming, playing pinnacle, chess, karate, and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He was an avid donor of many charities and mentor of many. Danny will be remembered for being a loving support to many family and friends with his giving nature, infectious smile, and great sense of humor.

In addition to his wife of over 45 years, Judie (Crosby), and three daughters Jodie Rivera, Danielle (Terell) Canada, and Karla (Paul) Mpanga, Danny leaves behind three grandchildren Kairos Mpanga, Carter Canada, and Kesha Mpanga. His siblings: brothers, George J. Reis, Joseph Reis, George Reis Jr., Anthony Ward and sisters, Nellie Jordan, Ann L. Shepherd, Eve Reis, Julia Scott, and Jorgette (Robert) Gary. He was preceded in passing by a sister, Janice L. Ward, grandparents Sammie and Julian Hayre, and an uncle W. Alexander Hayre Sr. He also leaves to treasure his memory, a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 11th at Zion Baptist Church, on 137 Pearl St. at 10am . Visitation is at the same location from 9-10am . James R. Sanders funeral director. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his honor to a charity of your choice is appreciated. C ondolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
