Danton M. Hill, Sr. Transitioned into eternal rest on November 1, 2024. He was the loving son of the late Richard B. Hill and Eula Mitchell Hill of Bridgeport, CT. Danton (Dan as he was affectionately known as) was educated in the Bridgeport school system and graduated from Central High School. He served in the United States Marines and later was employed by the Veteran’s Affairs in West Haven, CT where he retired from after many years of service. Dan also worked at the Omni Hotel in New Haven and started his own business started his own business after retirement.
Danton was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in New Haven for several years. He was also a member of the Widow’s Son Lodge #1 in New Haven.
Danton leaves to cherish his memories with his loving wife, Brenda Foskey-Hill with who he resided. He also leaves to cherish his blended family, daughter Theresa Morant, Marjorie Foskey and Soni Foskey, brother-in-law Jerry Foskey; sisters-in-law Phyllis Foskey and Irene Foskey; twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a special aunt, Barbara Boyd of Pennsylvania, and a special uncle, Dr. Leon Boyd (Lillie) of North Carolina.
Danton also leaves to cherish memories of life with his brother Derwin K. Hill, sister Karen Hill-Johnson (Eric), sister-in-law Gloria Hill; daughters Tiona Saunders and Felicia Hill; sons Danton Hill Jr., Darren Saunders (Tenicia), Jason B. Hill; step daughter Torie T. Goethe. Danton was predeceased by his stepsons Ivan Foskey, Sr. and Jerrell M. Miller; brother Aneal “Butch” Hill.
The transition service for Danton Hill will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024 . The procession will leave Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT, at 10:15 am sharp. Family members are asked to be at the funeral home by 9:45 am. Services will take place at New Antioch Church of God, 65 Burban Drive Branford CT 06405 . Viewing will take place at 10am with a service to follow at 11am. The family asked that all cards, flowers and gifts be sent directly to Colonial Funeral Home.
