David Lee Adams

David Lee Adams, age 70 of Waterbury, CT passed away tragically and unexpectedly while visiting with his family in Jacksonville, Florida. He entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2024. David was born on February 8, 1954 in Opelika, Alabama, the son of the late Willie and Mary (Ligon) Adams.

He was educated in the Waterbury Public School System, graduating from Wilby High School. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City for several years, before returning to live in Waterbury.

After his marriage in 1980, Bertha Gary, the couple moved to Amherst, Virginia. David was employed by the Amherst County School System. He was a para-professional at Amherst High School, where he was instrumental in the development of a unique Study Hall Program. In 1984 the couple relocated back to Connecticut. David worked for many years at Ansonia Copper and Brass and Anament as a machine operator before his retirement.

David acquired and expanded his knowledge of the stock market. He developed his own portfolio and purchased his own stocks independently. He enjoyed watching the financial news shows and engaging in conversations regarding financial security and economic issues, with his friends and family. He also developed a passion for cooking. His cooking style and food presentation were quite impressive. It became one of the many ways he showed his love for his family. David was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and was dedicated to ensuring that his children would be raised with a Christian foundation. His love of God, and his devotion to his family were defining traits of his lifestyle. His work ethic was admirable, and had a strong influence on the lives of his two children. They both attribute their personal success and strong work ethic to their conversations and observation of how their father lived his life.

David leaves to cherish his love and memory, his wife of 44 years Bertha (Gary) Adams, two children, Jonathan(Tiana) Adams and Carla (Jarahn) Newman, three grandchildren Jonathan David Adams, Isabella Adams and Julia Newman, all residents of Florida.
