David Eugene Toles, 54, of New Haven, CT passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020.

He was born on June 16, 1966, to Henry R. and the late, Annie L. Woodard Toles.

“Spanky or Spank”, as he was fondly known by family and friends, was educated in the New Haven Public School System and graduated in 1984, from James Hillhouse High School.

From an early age, it was clear David was an adventurous and always eager to try new things at least once. His biggest passion and pastime was enjoying the outdoors on two wheels. He believed that the ‘bike’ in any two-wheel form (pedal bike or motorcycle) gave him the tranquility and freedom that he so loved. David lived exactly as he pleased, a cycle enthusiast, riding with the wind. Often times, you could find him in the company of a family member, friend, or acquaintance discussing religious beliefs and his faith in God, the latest in sports, or recent political views.  David was very intelligent and well liked by many and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, David M. Toles; father, Henry R. Toles; siblings, Ann, Tanya, Peggy, Randy and Henry E. Toles; nieces/nephews, Tenisha Trimble, DeNadia Toles, Jasmine, Tasia, and Aria Smith, Jason and Chaz Meade; a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and Dondre Greene Sr. whom he referred too and loved like a son.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie L. Woodard Toles and brother, Michael D. Toles.

Viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Colonial, 86 Circular Avenue, from 4-7pm. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
