Mr. Dennis Forde Singh known as “Fordee” or “Sensei Singh” was the son of the late Muriel Singh and Frank Forde. He was born in Guyana on June 17, 1931, and went home to glory on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He was a quite simple and humble person who embraced life. He believed that your reaction to life (whatever comes your way) is what makes the difference. That life should be lived in balance and daily adherence to spiritual guidance. Dennis was a first-class scout (wore the green & gold cord) in Guyana (British Guiana at that time). He was a wrestler and Judo instructor who, was honored by Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom (England) for his outstanding contribution to the Judo Federation. He was honored by Lord Baden Powell founder of the Boy Scout movement worldwide. He was one of the pioneers for Karate in Guyana and was the Honorary Life President for the Guyana Amateur Karate Association and the Chief Karate instructor of the Guyana Lithographic Karate Club in La Penitence Georgetown, Guyana. He worked at Litho Graphics and then transferred to Guyana Printers Limited as a Compositor Operator. Dennis was extremely funny with his dry jokes that came out so spontaneously. He loved listening and dancing to sparrow’s music, as well as western movies. He was fanatical about exercising.
Dennis leaves behind his wife Lucille Singh, his children Keith Lyttleton Babb, Mary Margaret Wilder (Alaric Wilder), Pamela Bobb (the late retired Colonel Leslie Bobb), Joyleen Messiah (Lance), Aubrey Singh (Virginia), Richard Singh, Brin Singh (Rushell), Donna Ray (Lonnie), Andrew Singh (the late Faye), Annis Singh, Gregory Singh, Stephen Singh (Susan) and Trevor Singh.
