Derick W. Mason

Derick W. Mason, 53, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family.  Derick was born on June 7, 1971, to Ellen Kidd and the late Nelson Mason.  Derick attended Waterbury Public Schools graduating from Crosby High School.

He will be greatly missed by his mother Ellen Kidd of Waterbury, CT; 6 Sisters, Kimberly and Willie Nowell of Waterbury, CT, Valerie Mason of Brooklyn, NY, Phyllis and Nelcie Mason of Waterbury, CT and Cynthia and Donna Mason of MA; 2 Brothers, Nelson Mason, Jr of Waterbury, CT and Nelson Mason III and Nicole Mason of Phoenix, AZ.  He is predeceased by his father Nelson Mason. Derick will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He will especially be missed by his childhood friend since 3 ^rd grade, Rick Zenick.

Derick enjoyed watching sports, mainly Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing cards with his family.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury at 12pm (noon), Viewing will be from 11am-12pm at Colonial. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Condolences may be express at www.colonialfunerals.com.
