At an early age, Eddie was raised into being a hardworking man. He worked on the farm alongside his parents, brothers, and sister. Getting up as early as 4 am was a norm in his family. As one of the eldest, Eddie took on the responsibility of caring for his younger siblings. He was baptized and a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

As a young man, Eddie attended Tuskegee Institute high school; class of ‘57 in Tuskegee AL. He joined the United States Army and served in the Army Reserve. He took great pride in being a veteran.

Eddie was proud of all the jobs that he held including working at Yale University, VA hospital, St Raphael’s hospital and Sikorsky.

Anyone who has ever encountered Eddie Bynum, would say that he was a humble, gentle respected, dedicated, confident and loyal man. And we cannot forget about his humor. He was the epitome of what a man should look, think, and act like. He was polished and dapper. He kept wholesome family values and he was a great provider for his family. Family and friends also enjoyed hearing his experiences as Eddie was a master storyteller.
