Eddie Melendez

Eddie Melendez, age 72, of New Haven, entered into eternal life on Monday November 6, 2017 at the VA Hospital of West Haven. He was born on September 1, 1945 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Irene (Gonzalez) Melendez and the late Carmello Melendez. Cherished father of Irene (Bill) Graham, Eddie (Nina) Melendez Jr., Lydia (Elvis) Garcia, Linda Melendez, J.J. Melendez, Edward Melendez, Elizabeth Melendez; step children Milton, Ruben, Jorge, Millie and Fufy. Loving brother of Lydia Melendez. Also survived by many grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Predeceased by 3 brothers Pedro, William, Carl Melendez; and 3 step children Benji, Luis, Mikey. Eddie served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a very decorate soldier and received 4 purple heart awards.

Visitation will be held on Friday November 24, 2017 in Colonial, 86 Circular Ave Hamden from 5-9pm. Funeral Saturday Morning from 9-11am, Interment will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown with military honors. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
