Listen to Obituary

Edmund John Valeriano (“Eddie”), 57, of New Haven, Connecticut, entered eternal rest on September 21, 2026. He was born May 3, 1969, in New Haven to Georgianna Zimmerman and the late Armando Valeriano Sr.

Eddie graduated from Hill Regional Career High School in 1987 and continued his education at Eli Whitney Technical High School. He later earned his electrical license and became a licensed electrician in the State of Connecticut. Eddie served as an electrical inspector for the City of New Britain and was a well-respected electrical contractor, owning AM PM Electrical Service, LLC.

He enjoyed traveling, especially to Cabo Verde, attending Cape Verdean festivals to celebrate his heritage, and eating cachupa. He also loved cooking for family and friends—especially his favorite turkey wings and steak. A lifelong learner, Eddie enjoyed reading and discovering new things. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic and for continually honing and perfecting his electrical craft.

Edmund leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Georgianna Zimmerman; two daughters, Tequetta Valeriano of Hamden, CT, and Ebony Valeriano of Ellicott City, MD; and one son, Edmund Valeriano III of New Haven, CT. He is also survived by seven sisters, Angela (Freddie) Cummings, Suzanne (Charles) Gragg, Armonda Valeriano, Adriane Valeriano, Aninha Valeriano, Karen Valeriano, and Pamela Morrison; four brothers, Armando Valeriano Jr., Anthony Valeriano, Joseph Valeriano, and Ronnie Grissett; one grandson, D’Arie Redd; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Edmund's life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511. Viewing will take place at 10:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Avenue, Hamden, CT 06515.
