Edward Keith Yopp passed in peace on July 7,2021 at his home in New Haven, CT. Edward was a graduate of Gateway Community College and spent time as a reentry counselor for young men returning home from prison. Edward also spent time  as a counselor and a mentor at the Columbus House in New Haven. Edward loved spending time listening to music and writing poetry. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Yopp Jr. and brothers Roger Yopp and William Lewis McCleese. He is survived by his loving mother Ms. Josephine McCleese-Yopp, brother Kevin Yopp, and sister Terry Yopp. He is also survived by his children Sharmaine Grant, Michael Bond, Cherese Chambers, and Theresa Chambers. Also, grandchildren, Shane Grant, Sheila Grant, Stevon Grant, Mehkai Bond, Markel Bond, Raekwon Chambers, Durasia Chambers, Oliver Thomas Jr., Chynna Fields, Bobby Fields, E’mari Fields, Dailand Cotten, Diamond Cotten, Cincere Spencer, Peyton Penn, Preston Penn, Pernell Penn Jr. Great grandchildren Kodi Sweat , Skai Grant, and Sereniti Grant. E.K is also survived by a host of relatives including his uncles Joseph McCleese and Artis Yopp and his great aunt Susan Phelmetta in addition to 4 nieces and 6 nephews. The family will be receiving friends directly following the service at 50 Fitch St. in New Haven.

A Celebration of Edward’s life will be held on Monday July 19, 2021 in Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden at 11am. Viewing will be in Colonial from 10am-11am. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com .
