Elder Richard Lee Stallings was born to Mr. Lester Stallings and Mrs. Mary Wilder Stallings on November 11, 1943 in Edenington North Carolina, and gained his reward on September 28th 2022 peacefully in his home. He worked as a laborer at Scovill Manufacturing Company, Southbury Training School and American Plastic. On July 27th, 1996 he said I do to his lovely wife, Vida Ruth Moore. Elder Stallings served in the capacity of Elder at Refuge Church of Christ until his final rest. For many he was a sound counselor, who radiated with the love of Jesus in conversation. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching westerns, and he loved the people of God.
He was a beautiful father to four girls, Evelyn Stallings, Karen Kee (Randy Kee), Dana Stallings-Martinez (George Martinez) ,Richayla Stallings, 3 sons, Richard Stallings jr, Jaime Moore, Ricardo Gonsalves, a grandfather to 20, a brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He is predeceased by his Parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lester Stallings, 3 brothers; John Stallings, Clifton Stallings, Thomas Stallings, 2 sisters; Margaret Stallings-Riddick, Caroline Stallings- Joyner, and one Grandson, Randy kee jr. His memory will be cherished by his church family and loved ones. A Homegoing celebration will be held on Friday October 7th, 2022 at Refuge Church of Christ, 13 Hawkins Street, Waterbury. The viewing is from 10-11am and the Service beginning at 11am. Interment to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery.
