Eola Allen
MAY 14, 1939 - AUGUST 28, 2026
Eola Allen, a beloved mother. grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 87.
Eola was born on May 14, 1939, to the late Frank and Espnola Craven. She grew up in Sherman, Texas, where she was raised in the faith and attended Greater New Hope Baptist Church of Sherman, Texas.
Eola was educated at Fred Douglas High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. During her high school years, she was an active and talented young woman. She played the drums in the school band, helping her team celebrate many victories, and she was also an avid tennis player.
Eola's journey eventually led her to Perrin Air Force Base, where she met her hushand, Woodrow Wilson Allen Jr., who was stationed there. They first made their home in Richmond, West Virginia, before Woodrow eventually brought Lola to New Haven, Connecticut, where they built their life and raised their family.
A Love That Endured
Later in Eola's life, she was blessed to share 57 years of love, companionship. and memories with her lifelong partner. Louis Evans. Together, Eola and Louis shared many seasons of life, creating memories and building a bond that remained an important part of Eola's journey. Louis will forever hold a special place in her story and in the hearts of the family who loved her.
Eola was a woman whose life was centered around her family, her faith. and the people she loved. She leaves behind a beautiful family legacy that continues through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. Bola was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Espoola Craven: her brothers. Morrison Gibson and Willie Gibson: her sister. Ella Mae: her beloved ed husband, Woodrow Wilson Allen Jr.: and her three sons, Marky Allen, David Allen, and Marion Allen.
She leaves to cherish her memory her lifelong partner of 57 years, 1 Louia Evans: her daughters, Victoria Wiggins, Gloria Allen. and Jeanne Allen: her sons. Kevin Allen and Ronald Allen: along with a whole feet of grandchildren. great-grandchildren. and great-great-grandchildren.
Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and the love she poured into them will continue through every generation.
Though she is no longer with us physically, Kola's lore, laughter, strength. faith. and memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service of Eola's life will be held on Thursday September 24, 2026 at 2pm at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Ct. Visitation in Colonial from 1pm-2pm. Condolences may be expressed at Colonial Funerals.com.
