Ernest Lewis

Ernest Lewis was born on February 25, 1965, in New Haven, CT to the late Ernest Leroy Lanier and the late Jeanette Lewis. Ernest entered eternal rest on December 7, 2024. Earnest, 59 years old resided in New Haven, CT and attended New Haven Public School system where he graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1984. Ernest worked for New Haven Housing Authority for many years until his health started declining, he then worked at Popeyes in New Haven, CT until he was no longer able to work. Ernest was a twin, everywhere he went, he talked about it, he also was an independent person, he didn’t let his health stop

him. He leaves to cherish his daughter, Tianna Belton and grandson King Solomen of West Haven, CT, five sisters, Barbara Lewis of Middletown, CT, Denise Cox, Venita Cowes, Barbara Lewis, Ernestine Lewis (twin sister), all of New Haven, CT, two brothers, Robert Lewis of New Haven, CT, Robert Lewis of Richmond, VA. He also has two special sisters, Cathy Johnson of New Haven, CT, Kimberly Baker of South Carolina and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews and friends. Ernest is predeceased by father, Ernest Leroy Lanier, Mother, Canette Lewis, Uncle Calvin Atkins, Nephew Eric Lewis and Brother-in-w, Jessie Cox. A.K.A. Ernie Lewis, you will be missed.

A Celebration of Ernest’s Life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden at 6pm. Viewing in Colonial from 5pm-6pm. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com.
