Mrs. Ethel Jean (Curry) Blair, 76, of 68 Perkins Ave, Waterbury, Connecticut entered into eternal rest from this earthly home surrounded by her loving family on Monday August 22, 2022.  She was the wife of Gene E. Blair.

Mrs. Blair was born on August 27, 1945 in Pomaria , South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Orlander W. Curry and Queen E. (Herbert) Curry.  Mrs. Blair was formerly employed until her retirement with New Opportunities of Waterbury Head Start Program after 37 years of service as a Head Teacher.  She loved her little children so very much that she became a daycare worker / grandparent in her own home for her family and friends.  She was a coordinator for the Dynamic Imperials Drill Team Marching Ensemble for many years.  She was a seamstress.  She loved bingo and she loved to cook and could put something together and make it the best for a meal for everyone.  Ethel loved family so much that she put together so many special events at home for her family and friends in her back yard just to bring everyone together and making sure that they all saw how the family was growing and getting to know each other.

Sister Blair was a member of the Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, where she was a faithful member of the Willing Workers Ministry.

Ethel leaves behind t o cherish her most precious memories her beloved husband Gene Blair ; her son Wilbert Clinton of Waterbury, Connecticut; (3) daughters, Ladora Sanders and Danette Broome Keel of Charlotte, North Carolina; Romona (Michael) Barnes Sr. of Waterbury, Connecticut; Nikitta (Brian) Wright of Meriden, Connecticut; Janelle Parrish of Florida; (2) brothers Harroll (Eve) Curry and Jerry ( Ch a ndre ) Gary of Waterbury, Connecticut (1) sister Eliza (James) Morrison of Greenwood, South Carolina; (1) brother-in-law Hu mes Perry of Waterbury, Connecticut (3) sister-in-laws Diana Curry and Carol Curry of Bristol, Connecticut; Rita Dudley of Meriden, Connecticut.  (1) special brother Erv in Mention of Meriden, Connecticut; a special granddaughter Jayli n Kee of Waterbury, Connecticut ; She was predeceased in death by (2) brothers Carroll R. Curry and James W. Curry; (1) sister Esterleana Perry; a son Darrell Rogers; a son-in-law Kenneth Sanders;

Ethel is survived by 26 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild whom she loved and cherished dearly.

A celebration of Ethel’s life will be held on Friday August 26, 2022 at 11am at Grace Baptist Church. Viewing in church from 10-11am . Interment to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. James R. Sanders, Funeral Director and Colonial Funerals. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com .
