Ethel B. Tolson, age 93 affectionately known as Aunt Ethel entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Whitney Manor Rehabilitation Center in Hamden, Ct. She was born March 23, 1928 in Asbury Park, New Jersey along with her twin sister Edith Gore who departed this earth in November, 2020
Ethel was a long time resident of Tower East where she volunteered and served on several boards. She also sang with the Towers gospel choir Ethel worked as a CNA at numerous nursing facilities. She was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, a Catholic fraternal organization. Ethel loved traveling and visited many states in the USA, West Indian Islands, Hawaii and China.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Madeline Lee Barnes, husband Lloyd Tolson, sisters Madeline Hundley and Edith Gore, nieces Madeline Harris and Betty Grimes and great nephew Rodney Hundley.
Ethel’s memory will be cherished by her caregivers niece Edith Rawls and nephew Clarence R (Joe) Hundley of Duluth, Georgia in addition nieces Ethel Anderson of New Jersey, Yvette Gore of West Haven, Nephews Mark Gore of Middletown, Ct and Jones Ruth of New Haven and a host of of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Ethel B. Tolson will be held on Monday June 14, 2021 Service at St Martin de Porres RC 136 Dixwell Avenue New Haven, Ct 06511. Viewing in church from 10am – 11am. Mass from 11am – 12 noon. Internment will follow at Hamden Plains Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
