Eva Gray Taylor DaCosta was born on September 21, 1941 in Thomasville, Alabama to the late George Taylor and Malissie Watkins Taylor. She excepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Eva was a faithful employee at Teresa Rest Home for 51 years. She wore many hats, a chef, nurse, aide, manager, recreational staff and many more. On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, It was a sad and emotional day as she retired from Teresa Rest Home, leaving the individuals that she cared for, loved, respected, and was mentor to the individuals and staff.
Eva entered eternal rest on October 15, 2023 surrounded by her sisters. She leaves to cherish loving memories her three sisters; Credella Taylor Grayson of Thomasville, Alabama, Nettie Taylor Robert (Nelson) of New Haven, Connecticut, Lydia Taylor of Hamden, Connecticut, three brothers; Will Taylor of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Isaac Taylor, of Thomasville, Alabama, Dexter Taylor (Lisa) of West Haven, Connecticut. One caring and devoted best friend Earleen Jordan of New Haven, CT. One devoted and caring nephew and caregiver, Chester Taylor of New Haven, Connecticut. A caring niece and caregiver Natasha Lynn Taylor. Two godsons, Tyshawn Taylor Thompson and Lenquan L. Lennon. A host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was a predeceased in death by her husband, Felix DeCosta, her parents, George, and Malissie, sisters, Georgia Taylor Grayson and Brenda Taylor Cowan and a brother, George Edward Taylor (Sam).
A celebration of Eva’s life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11am at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT. The viewing will be held from 10am to 11am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
