Evelyn Harris

We regretfully announce the passing of Evelyn Mae Harris 99 of Waterbury, CT on April 12, 2021. Evelyn was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Evelyn was one of the strongest, most courageous, kindest and loving women to ever walk this earth and her family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Evelyn was born on November 5, 1921, she graduated from Chase School. After school, she worked as a housekeeping aid for several years at Waterbury Hospital.

Evelyn was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who gave her all to her family. She was known by everyone as Aunt Evie. She was an avid baker of pies, cakes and her homemade rolls were a family favorite. Evelyn and her late sister Phyllis were known by family as” two peas in a pod” and were inseparable.

Evelyn was the daughter of the late Nettie and Weldon Foust. She was predeceased by five sisters, Sylvia Foust, Ermine Killerbrew, Alice Evans, Margarite Holman, Phyllis Lamb and one brother Frank Foust. She is survived by her two son’s Edward and David Harris, four grandchildren Jeffery Hickson, Ashley Harris, Jessica Delorenzo,  Olivia Harris and seven great grandchildren.

Evelyn will be laid to rest at New Pine Grove cemetery on Wednesday, April 21st at 11am where graveside services will be held. James R. Sander, funeral director and Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury are handling the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
