Evyana Vidro

Evyana “Cocoa” Devine Vidro, age 15, of New Haven, CT peacefully entered into eternal rest with our father Jesus Christ, on February 8, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Evyana was born in New Haven, CT on March 8, 2008, to Marielis Matos and Eric Vidro. Evyana “Cocoa” was a sophomore at Wilbur Cross High School. She loved art, reading, every and anything Selena, anime, her friends, spending time reading her bible, chasing her sisters out of her room, and celebrating birthdays – literally anyone’s birthday! But above all, mac n’ cheese and her momma’s empanadas! Family was everything to Evyana and she sure would make you feel loved with her texts, calls, facetimes, and heartwarming hugs. Please believe if she ever told you “I love you,” there was no doubting that. Evyana was always positive, kind, and funny; always keeping a big smile on her face. Despite her medical condition, Cocoa lived her life to the fullest, never letting her condition stop her from achieving her goals and dreams.

Evyana is survived by her mother Marielis Matos, father Eric Vidro and stepfather Sean Connelly all of New Haven, CT, sisters Amya and Kaylee Connelly, Tiana and Evelyn Vidro and stepbrother Tyrese Connelly all of New Haven. Maternal grandparents, Juan and Maria Matos of New Haven, CT. Paternal grandparents Sadi Vidro Sr., of New Haven, CT and Dora Vidro of Alabama. Special grandparents Thomas and Ali Connelly of Florida and Sheila Toles of New Haven, CT. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Evyana was predeceased by great-grandmother Maria Dolores Lopez Martinez.

We will always remember the courage and light she presented in this life. Evyana, sweetheart, I love you and I miss you.

A Celebration of Evyana’s life will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue Hamden, Connecticut, at 11am. Viewing in Colonial from 9am-11am. Burial to follow at Centerville Cemetery, Hamden, Connecticut. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
