Francisco Ortega

Francisco Ortega of Meriden formerly of New Haven passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 20, 2018. He was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, the son of Luz Rivera-Pheanious and the late Pablo Ortega. Francisco is survived by his wife Olga Maya-Ortega of Meriden, mother Luz Rivera-Pheanious (William) of New Haven, daughter Krysta Ortega, son Francisco M. Ortega both of New Haven, sister Paula Ortega of Puerto Rico, brother Edurdo Ortega of East Hartford. Friends Pichi and Milta Ortega. He was predeceased by a brother Pablo Ortega. Step daughter Chaliza Maya, step sons John and Jonathan. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews. He was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and Veteran of the US Army. He was a supervisor for Nighthawk Security before retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on cars and scuba diving. The family owes a debt of gratitude to the amazing team at YNHH.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 24, 2018 at Colonial, 86 Circular Avenue Hamden from 4-8pm. Funeral Services held on Friday from 9-11am. Interment will follow at Centerville Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com
