Freddie Whitfield

Freddie Whitfield of New Haven, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. A native of Davisboro, GA Freddie was born the fifth child of Idella and Jasper Whitfield on October 3, 1969. Freddie was the baby of the family. He owned his own private business. Freddie was a kind and gentle man, who loved everyone close to him with a heart of gold. He was a great father, grandfather and friend.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his long time girlfriend Tammy Whitley of New Haven, CT, his children Raquel Thompson of New Haven, CT, Jakina Dudley of Lumberton N.C, Freddie Whitfield Jr., of New Haven, CT, Chaela Stevenson of New Haven, CT, and nine grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Sandra Jenkins of Davisboro, GA, Lillie Ruth and Paul Middleton of Davisboro, GA, Mary Alice Tukes of Davisboro, GA. Freddie will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews and a list of lifelong friends. Proceeding him in death was his brother Coleman Mcloud.

A celebration of Freddie’s life will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at 12pm at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT. Viewing in Colonial from 10am-12pm. Burial will be in Georgia. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
