In Loving Memory of Gail Vanessa Moore Bagley (Campbell)
Gail Vanessa Moore Bagley (Campbell), a radiant and beloved soul, departed from this world on July 29th 2023. She was a beacon of love and joy, whose presence lit up the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Gail was born on May 1, 1953, in East Meadow, New York, to the late Mary Diane Nash and Victor Moore, and her legacy of warmth and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched.
A graduate of James Hillhouse High School in 1972, Gail’s pursuit of education marked the beginning of a life dedicated to caring for others. She earned her certification as a nursing assistant, embarking on a career that exemplified her compassionate nature. Gail worked tirelessly in various roles as a CNA, bringing comfort and solace to countless individuals during their times of need.
Gail’s infectious smile and signature big hats and sunglasses were reflections of her vibrant personality. Her mere presence had the remarkable ability to light up any room, and her genuine joy was contagious. A woman of unwavering faith, Gail’s spirituality guided her path and inspired those around her. Her laughter was a source of solace, and she delighted in sharing cherished memories, especially those harkening back to days gone by.
Above all, Gail cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her family was the nucleus of her world, and the love she shared with them was immeasurable. She adored spending quality time with her loved ones, whether it was dancing the night away, indulging in music’s melodies, or simply sharing hearty laughter. Gail’s heart overflowed with love, and her nurturing spirit served as a source of strength for her family and friends.
Gail leaves behind her husband, Benjie Campbell. A cherished legacy, carried on by her children, Brett Moore (Rita) and Sonny Bagley (Chakenna). She was survived by her first husband, Bruce Bagley, Gail’s grandkids, Makayla Bagley, Sonny Bagley Jr. (BJ), Bryson Bagley, Kristen Moore, Jori Moore, and Xavier Moore, will always remember her as their guiding light.
She is survived by her sister, Lisa Moore (Leroy Simmons), her brothers Todd Coles (Tish Cedeno) Mark & Maura Moore. Gail’s memory lives on in the hearts of her nephews, Kary Youman (Tonje Arntzen), Christopher Chapman (Shaniqwa), and her niece, Kiana Baldwin. Her great nephews, Karif Dash Baldwin and Christopher Chapman Jr., along with her great niece, Koa Rainn Baldwin, will forever hold her spirit close.
Gail’s god-daughter, Nickia McAuley-Hines, Dear friend Cassandra McCoy, and a multitude of cherished cousins and friends remember her with immense love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Moore and Diane Nash, step-father, Robert Coles, sister Jill Coles, and great niece, Yara Grace Baldwin.
As we gather to celebrate Gail’s life, let us remember her infectious smile, boundless love, and unshakable faith. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those she touched.
May Gail Vanessa Moore Bagley (Campbell) rest in eternal peace, her memory forever etched in our hearts.
To honor Gail’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on August 19th, 2023 at St. Matthews Church, 400 Dixwell Ave New Haven, CT at 12pm. Viewing in Church from 11-12pm.
