In Loving Memory of Granata Adora Smith.
Granata Smith, born March 17th 1964, passed away on December 15th 2023 at the age of 59. Granata was predeceased by her father Kennies E Edwards, mother Genevieve D Edwards, daughter Demitria D Nelson and granddaughter Ari D Brown. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Granata was a devoted wife to Duncan Smith and a loving mother to her two sons, Robert M Brown Jr and Kennies E Brown LaKicia D Moye, daughter in love Timisha, grandkids Zion, Inasia, Zuriel, Cielo, Elon, Ayden and Wyatt. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home for them. Her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and strength for her beloved family.
Professionally, Granata was a dedicated phlebotomist for more than 39 years. Her commitment to her work touched the lives of many, and her skill and kindness made her a beloved figure in her field. Granata’s compassion and gentle nature brought comfort to those she served, earning her the respect and admiration of both colleagues and patients alike. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Granata was known for her infectious laughter, warm smile, and genuine kindness but also one to speak her mind and set record straight. Much like her mother she had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and her friendships were a testament to the love she shared with those around her. Granata’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In this time of sorrow, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and the positive impact she made on the lives of others.
A Celebration of Granata’s life will be held on Thursday Evening, December 21st, 2023 at Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church located at 782 Orchard Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Visitation is from 4pm-6pm, Funeral services will follow at 6pm. Burial will be held on Friday Morning, December 22, 2023 at Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, cards and gifts of love the family kindly requests that they be presented to the welcome staff the day of services in Granata’s honor.
