Hans Anton Fiak Sr.

Hans Anton Fiak Sr. of New Haven entered into eternal rest peacefully on February 20, 2024 at Yale New Hospital with his family by his side. Hans was born February 20th, 1971, son of Melinda Carey Trutnau and the late Roger Fiak. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert (“Poppy”) and Helen (“Nanny”) Carey as well as his Uncle Scott Carey and his loving dog “Chunk”. Besides his mother, Hans is survived by his Uncle Robert (Nancy), sister Katrina “Sweet Pea” Martinez (Gumby), his brother Rudy “Lil Rudy” Trutnau Jr., sons Hans “June” Fiak Jr. (Kathryn) and Nikko Fiak, as well as his two nieces of whom he adored, Melinda and Makaela. He was also “Pop-Pop” to his two beautiful granddaughters and greatest blessings, Giada and Mila. He is survived by many other friends and loved ones including his long time friend & companion Sharlene Willis.

He enjoyed listening to his old school Rock N’ Roll music, as if he was part of the band and knew every lyric. He loved to laugh and at his best moments, spent time with his loved ones reminiscing on old stories; he was the definition of a jokester. He was an exceptional artist and loved drawing and “doodling” as he would call it. He had a passion for fine foods and expensive shoes! As Hans always said “even when I’m not alright, I’m alright!” and that’s how we would like for him to be remembered!

Please join us in honoring him for a Memorial in his name during Visiting Hours on the afternoon of Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 from 12-3pm at the Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden Ct. Burial will be private. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com
