Henry Cecil Wright

Henry “Cecil” Wright was born on June 3, 1951, in Plantersville, SC. to the marital union of Mr. Marion Wright and Arlena Wright.

Cecil attended school in Georgetown country, where he graduated from Choppee High School. Some years later he moved to New Haven, CT, where he married his loving wife, the former Joann “Cookie” Holmes. Cecil was the father of 7children and grandfather of 19. Cecil was employed at United Illumination for 28 years before retiring in 2017.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, 2 brothers Raymond and Hilden Wright, 1 sister Marion “Peggy” Draytonand 1 son Carlos Greene. Cecil departed this life on November 21, 2021, at home.

He leaves the following to cherish his lasting memories; his loving wife Joann Wright of New Haven, CT; Daughter:Vernetta “Nita” Sarvis-Lynch (Gerald) of Charlotte, NC, 6 sons; Verron “Ron” Sarvis (Tina) of Conway, SC, Henry “Cecil” Wright Jr. (Terena) of Hamden, CT, Markus Wright of Boston MA, Justin Wright, and Jason Holmes, both of New Haven, CT; Brother: John Wright (Claudia) of Georgetown, SC,; 3 sisters: Claudia Ford, Evelyn Miller (Theodore), Glenda Wright all of Georgetown, SC. ; 2 brother in laws; Lorenzo Moon and Thomas Holmes both of New York, NY. ; 2 sister in laws, Bertha Wright of New Haven, Ct and Ruth Wright of Bucksville, SC.; 19 Grandchildren, Gerald, Jordyn, Jerrius, Lundyn, Jaylen, Lailah, Lathan, Tajenae, Camille, Desire,Ja’Naiha, Kymire, Montjah, Jayonna, Khalil,  Shanice, Cahleigha, Craig Jr and Kalel.; 1 Great grand, Aaliyah. And a host of loving nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

A celebration of Henry’s life will be held on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at New Beginnings Ministries, 21 Pershing Street, Hamden at 11am. Viewing from 10-11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
