Horace L. Draughn

Horace L Draughn 87 of New Haven Connecticut transition from this life to his Heavnly home on September 2nd 2021 he was born in Whitakers North Carolina to the late Maude Draughn Pierce. He was the loving husband of the late Gladys Mae Draughn. Mr. Horace was employed at montowese Health rehabilitation center for many many years until his retirement .He was a longtime member of Saint Paul’s uame Church in New Haven Where he was on the usher board under the leadership of Reverend Bowman Rev.Brown and current Pastor Reverend Joseph Bash He leaves to cherish one son Larry Miller (Margaret)Baltimore Maryland 1 daughter Lena Robinson(the late Samuel Robinson)of New Haven Connecticut grandchildren Renee Robinson, Angelina Robinson of New Haven Connecticut Amber Brooks Alexia Miller Baltimore Maryland great grandchildren Lynette Robinson Jalaya medley of New Haven Connecticut Aniah Miller, Dedrick Brooks II and Marc Anthony Baltimore Maryland. Brothers Rev Calvin Pierce (Minnie)Joseph Jesse Pierce sisters Francis Pearce ,Helen Bazemore predeceased twin brother Forest Draughn, Richard Pierce, Lloyd Draughn and sister Mammie Pierce.

A celebration of Horace’s life will be held on Monday September 13, 2021 at 11am at St. Paul’s Church 150 Dwight Street New Haven. Viewing in church from 10-11am. Interment will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
