Immanuel Lee Golett was born on August 10, 1987 in New Haven, Connecticut to Pastor Alice Lee Smith of New Haven and the late John Lee Golett of Greenville, North Carolina. Immanuel was a graduate of Jackie Robinson Middle School and attended James Hillhouse High School but obtained his High School Diploma through the Adult Education Program. Growing up, Immanuel was an active member in the Faith Revival & Deliverance Center Inc. “Tribe of Judah” choir. He loved to play the drums and would keep the beat going even when the song was over allowing the anointing to overflow the sanctuary with praises. Immanuel was a very hard worker. He always knew how to first, get the job and second, how to keep the job. His specialty was Landscaping however, he was a man with many hats and abilities. Immanuel was very close to all his siblings. He loved his children dearly and had a very special bond with his baby girl Zyniyah. Their connection was beyond adoring and will never be forgotten. Left to cherish his memories, mother, Pastor Alice Lee Smith, sisters, Laronda Barringer (Norwich, CT) & Tamyra Sellers (New Haven, CT) brothers, Johnnie K. Golett (New Haven, CT) & Marcus (Janese) Golett (Hamden, CT) sister, Chemeka Golett (New Haven, CT) brothers, Ezra (Sheri) Golett (New Haven, CT) & Joshua Golett (Wallingford, CT) & sister, Johniece Golett (Wallingford, CT) & a special God brother, Emmanuel Dizon (Detroit, MI). He is survived by his daughters Anijah Greenwood (New Haven, CT) & Zyniyah Joyner (New Haven, CT) and a special son, Adonis White (New Haven, CT). Immanuel is predeceased by his father John Lee Golett, paternal grandparents Austin & Annie Elizabeth Golett and maternal grandparents Gladys Best Barringer and Roy Carr. And brothers Austin Golett and Dewayne Barringer. Immanuel was loved by many and he will always be in our hearts. Let us not only mourn but to celebrate his life and his homegoing with the Lord.
A celebration of life will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, Friday December 20, 2019. Visitation from 10-11am, and 11am service. The repast will be held at Breakthrough Church 481 Shelton Avenue Hamden, CT 06514. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com.
