In Loving Memory of Iris M. Centeno

Iris M. Centeno, age 82, of New Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. Born on June 4, 1944, Iris was a lifelong resident of New Haven and a devoted employee of U.S. Surgical until her retirement.

Iris was a beautiful soul who was loved by many. She was known for her caring heart, warm smile, and loving personality. A true people person, she had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity touched the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She shared many cherished years with her beloved partner, Wilfredo Rivera. Iris is survived by her daughter, Maritza Perry; her beloved partner, Wilfredo Rivera; her brother, Jose Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Luis A. Rodriguez Jr., Yasmine Fowlkes, Eric Rodriguez, Michael Colon, Maritza Rodriguez, Matthew L. Humphrey, Destiny C. Wade, and Dashaan Perry; and her great-grandchildren, Christian Rodriguez, Dejiah Rodriguez, Omariano Rodriguez, Sebastian Rodriguez, Marco Rodriguez, Kay Fowlkes, Haven Fowlkes, Nevaeh Colon, Nathaniel Colon, and Ariella Wiley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Dominga Rodriguez; her beloved son, Luis A. Rodriguez; her son-in-law, Damon Perry, the beloved husband of her daughter, Maritza Perry; and her siblings, Hector Centeno, Virginia Rivera, and Juan Rodriguez.

Iris leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and beautiful memories that will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Iris's life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Colonial Funerals, Hamden, CT 06514 at 12pm. Viewing in Colonial from 10am-12pm. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com.
