James R. (Wee) Davis

James R. (Wee) Davis Sr. was born in Whitmire, South Carolina on September 7, 1935. The oldest child, of the late Annie Lee Young of Silver Street, South Carolina and Otis Coleman of Whitmire, South Carolina. James attended Voorhees Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina. James also served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Upon honorable discharge, James married his beloved wife Minnie L. (Gallman). The family moved to Waterbury, Connecticut in 1962. James worked for the city of Waterbury until his retirement. James was a professional barber and a painter. James enjoyed Gospel music. James loved watching western cowboys and army movies. He also enjoyed working in his yard. James predeceased by his beloved wife Minnie L. Davis of 63 years. Six sons James R. Jr. (Barbara), Dennis, Tommy (Delores), Earl, Jeffrey (Lisa), and Leonard (proceed in death). He also has one daughter: Janice (Douglas Sr.). Seven loving grandchildren Jermaine, De Shayla (Troy Sr.) Tommy Jr, Jasmine, Desiree, Jeffrey Jr, and Douglas Jr. Six great -grandchildren: Beloved sister- Diane Evans (Sherwood) of Newbery, South Carolina. Beloved sister, Barbara Abney who has preceded him in death. He also leaves to cherish a special nephew Lee Verne Gallman, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and supportive friends.
