Jane H. (Hughes) Hoff

Jane H. (Hughes) Hoff, age 86, of New Jersey, formally of Hamden, entered into eternal life on Thursday November 30, 2017. She was born on June 26, 1931 in New Haven, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Sephus) Hughes. Cherished mother of Walter Hoff of Virginia Beach, and Patricia Hoff of New Jersey. Survived by two grandchildren. Predeceased by one son Kevin Hoff, one brother Robert Sephus, and one sister Irene Louise Ross.

An avid professional seamstress, Jane also made a career as an Executive Administrative Assistant in the fields of manufacturing, education, healthcare, banking and the federal government before retiring in 1994.  Jane, who had a love for the church and a thirst for all things spiritual, was a member of Bethel A.M.E church, where she was church secretary and taught Sunday school.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Thursday December 7, 2017 in Colonial, 86 Circular Ave Hamden at 11 O’clock. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Interment will be in the Hoff family plot at Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at colonialfunerals.com.
